Greencard Interview

So Thursday we finally had our Greencard Interview. We were so nervous  :D the night before I packed all documents and bonafida we needed for our interview. I made copies for the interviewer of all originals :-) you never know if they maybe lost something from the application :D We had our appointment at 12.15 in the Baltimore Field Office and I already read so many negative things about them, but none of them were true for us :-)

We arrived an hour early, because we didn't know how traffic, parking and the queue of the security check would be. But we were lucky: no traffic, found parking right away next to the building and no queue at the security check :D after that we went to the receptionist desk and showed our appointment notice. It got stamped and than we went into the waiting room and got a number :-) we didn't had to wait too long and finally got called by our interviewer. He was a really nice guy, prob around our age.

In his office we were able to put our things down and than we had to swear to just say the truth. He explained us the procedure and started right off :-)

First he asked me questions about JT - his full name, address, birth date, birth place and the full names of his parents. Than he asked the same questions about me to JT. Than he asked us how we met? Where it was? When? What did we do for our first date? We talked a little bit more about that and than he already asked if we bought more things. And yes sure I did bought a bunch of things :D I gave him recently mailed letters to the both of us, our jointly filed tax return, the letter from our health insurance saying that JT added me on his plan, the affidavits from my mother-in-law and JT's best man and I showed him our wedding album. He asked JT who was who and than the interview was already over. He told us he would prob approve our case, but will let us know about the final decision in the next 30 days. The reason why is that I had to fill out some more paper work... It's not that I already filled out a bunch, but because of my G5 Visa I had to waive some of my rights I had and I had to fill out one form to be able to adjust the status from G5 to permanent resident. Yay! But anyway in the end it was not too bad :) we were maybe 20 minutes in the room. I was able to fill out the paperwork in the waiting room and give it to the interviewer back.

And now we wait again :-) but this time just for the final decision!
